The Cedars apartment complex in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, has a caretaker five days a week, so even if you don’t get along with your neighbours there’ll almost always be someone around to loosen the lid of a pickle jar, or shoot the breeze about the latest episode of Game of Thrones.
The Cedars is at Herbert Park Lane, off Anglesea Road and facing onto the River Dodder.
Number 71 The Cedars is on the sixth floor, with a balcony, and has views over the city towards Poolbeg and Dublin Bay.
You can step outside the building and wander into Herbert Park, where you’ll find a carp-filled pond, tennis courts, a playground, and Herbert Park Bowling Club. There’s a Native Tree Trail there too (which doesn’t include cedars). And if you’re in the mood for cocktails after your ramble, the Herbert Park Hotel is a two-minute walk away.
Number 71 is about 430 sq ft in size in a square, symmetrical layout. On one side of the entrance hall is the high-gloss fitted kitchen together with the living and dining room, where there’s a door to the balcony.

Lansdowne Road DART station and the stadium are less than a kilometre away, and you can walk to St Stephen’s Green in about 25 minutes. The RDS is on the other side of the Dodder, in plain sight.
