Head of Accounts / Finance Director
Location: Dublin | Full-time | Senior Leadership Role
Owen Reilly, a leading Dublin estate agency specialising in sales, rentals, tenancy management, and block management, is seeking a commercially minded Head of Accounts / Financial Director to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the owner, you will be managing all aspects of the finance function for the property business.
Your responsibilities will include detailed monthly client reporting on properties, production of monthly management accounts, overseeing the teams bookkeeping, preparing statutory accounts, preparing and filing VAT returns, preparing reports, as well managing the service charge audit process. You will also be tasked with preparing the budget and financial planning for the company.
In this role, you will need to take initiative and improve overall processes as you see fit to bring the finance function up to it’s most efficient operational capacity.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will need to a fully qualified Chartered Accountant, with experience in property and real estate.
You will need to have people management experience and be comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels, be it developing a junior staff member, liaising with clients or reporting to the owner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all financial operations across the business, including residential sales, lettings, management, and block management.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Maintain full compliance in managing client accounts, adhering to regulatory standards.
- Develop and refine financial processes and controls to support business efficiency and scalability.
- Provide strategic financial advice and commercial insight directly to the Managing Director.
- Lead cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and stakeholders as required.
- Management of non-residential landlords withholding tax – Monthly returns and payments to Revenue, liaising with landlords accountants and our own tax consultants.
- Stamp duty returns and payments on relevant lettings.
- Payroll, submitting PSRs and monthly P30 returns.
- Management of monthly enhanced revenue reporting re expenses.
- Pension auto enrolment.
- Managing monthly business payments – Rental payments, mortgage payments etc.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally within property, lettings, or block management sectors.
- Excellent knowledge of client money handling, financial compliance, and reporting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- A proactive, strategic thinker with an eye for operational improvement and commercial opportunities.
- Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) strongly preferred.
Salary
You will be rewarded with a salary of up to €80,000 plus bonus, generous holiday leave and parking if required.
Property Portfolio Manager

You will ideally possess appropriate third level degree and /or professional qualification and have 3+ years relevant experience with relevant PSRA licence.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct interim inspections on managed properties.

- Conduct rent reviews.
- Instruct, manage, and monitor third party contractors to deliver services required for property maintenance.
