Drimnagh

Drimnagh is in Dublin 12 on the southside of the city centre. It is well known for its rows of terraced houses which were built during the 1930s in response to the increasing housing crisis in Dublin’s inner city. It is a long-established community right on the Luas Red line and next to the Grand Canal. The area has numerous shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, and there is a close-knit community with a wonderful mix of young families and long-standing residents.

The Grand Canal is popular for walkers and joggers and there are plenty of parks and green space in the surrounding areas to be enjoyed. Brickfield Park is the main park in Drimnagh and has a playground, soccer, and all-weather pitches. Drimnagh Castle is a must see as the only Irish castle still to be surrounded by a flooded moat.

Close by is also Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin, Ireland’s largest paediatric hospital.

There are good transport links being close to the Naas Road and M50 and there is direct access into the city centre. It takes approx. 15 minutes to travel by car and the Luas Red line takes 20 minutes into the city centre.  Bus routes include the 122, 151 and 123.
