Stillorgan

Stillorgan is a sought-after suburb in South Dublin, popular with families due to its selection of local schools, green spaces and proximity to the city centre, N11 and M50. The old village centre remains with the shopping centre at its core. Stillorgan Village shopping Centre was the first of its kind in Ireland, opened in 1966. It has since been redeveloped and offers an excellent choice of high street stores and places to eat.

The surrounding area has three main parks to enjoy. Clonmore Park has a children’s playground and outdoor gym. Deerpark has a wooded area, tennis courts and grass pitches.

There are a host of recreational facilities in the area, including Kilmacud Crokes GAA, Leopardstown Tennis Club, and Foxrock Golf Club.

Other neighbourhood offerings include Leopardstown Racecourse and the Odeon Cinema.

The area is well served by Dublin bus with several routes including 11, 46A, 47, 75, 84X, 116, 118 and 145. There is also a local LUAS at Stillorgan, approximately 1.4km from the village, and there is also a stop at Sandyford.

EDUCATION

There are six good primary schools in the area. Cnoc Ainbhil, Lorcan Kilmacud, Oatlands, St. Brigid’s, St. Raphela’s and Scoil San Treasa.

There are three secondary schools, which include Oatlands College, St. Benildus and St. Raphela’s.

Stillorgan College of Further Education offers third level education.

DINE AND DRINK

There are many casual food and drink options located in the shopping centre. In the area, there are also a number of good independent restaurants to choose from.  Popular eateries include Gotham South Restaurant, Monsoon Stillorgan, and Narra Thai & Asian Restaurant.

Riba Restaurant is a popular Italian eatery open for lunch and dinner serving handmade pasta, great steak and fresh seafood.

Stillorgan Orchard is one of the oldest established pubs boasting one of Ireland’s largest thatched roofs, and a popular gastropub with a sizeable food menu.

The Leopardstown Inn is another long-standing gastropub, and a favourite with local residents and racing fans. They serve good quality food and drinks in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

O’ Dwyers Bar and Restaurant has reopened to offer a casual dining experience in the gastropub and a more formal dining in their restaurant. A great spot for a good drink and excellent food.

SHOP

There is a Tesco Superstore and Dunnes Stores at Stillorgan Village Shopping Centre and a Lidl across the road. There is also a local Donnybrook Fair. In Stillorgan Industrial Park you will also find an Aldi, Dunnes Stores and Supervalu.
